SLEEPING GIANT SKI & ZIP
The Sleeping Giant ski hill was established in 1936 in the Shoshone National Forest. As ski hills have turned into massive resorts or have been pushed out of business, the community of Cody, WY has made huge efforts to sustain this historic community ski hill. Now, the Piazza family hopes to see Sleeping Giant become the hub for outdoor recreation at the East gate of Yellowstone.
The heart of our community is the wildness that is the Big Horn Basin. Sleeping Giant is no different. It’s nestled in the Absaroka Mountains at the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The Shoshone River runs right through our front yard. Sleeping Giant not only attracts the outdoor adventurer for its summer and winter activities, but it’s also a wonderful place to sit back and enjoy the beauty that Sleeping Giant is nestled in.
Sleeping Giant Ski & Zip, is led by a dedicated group of locals and headquartered in Cody, Wyoming. Community Mountain LLC currently operates Sleeping Giant Ski Area & Zipline and is partnering with many recreational groups in the area to further expand our mission
Parents and kids are the lifeblood of Sleeping Giant. Families come here because they feel safe and look forward to having a good time. They know that every skier and snowboarder is willing to offer guidance and assistance to others – young or old. It’s our community culture. Come ski in blue jeans, tailgate après, or stop into the lodge to warm up while xc-skiing or snowshoeing. Sleeping Giant is a place for everyone.
